Sue Park, of Seoul National University, says that people with blood vitamin D levels below 30 ng\/ml are more at risk of diabetes than those with levels below 50 ng\/ml. About 77% of American adults are vitamin D deficient, a figure that has doubled since 1980.<\/p>\n<p>Previous studies have shown that vitamin D strengthens the immune system of people. The main source of vitamin D is undoubtedly the sun.
