Vegetable juice: Vegetables are very rich in this important vitamin. A mixed vegetable juice provides 65 milligrams of vitamin C. Tomato juice provides 45 milligrams of vitamin C in one glass while carrot juice provides 20 milligrams of vitamin C.
Required daily doses of vitamin C: Vitamin C needs are dependent on several factors. Men and boys need 90 milligrams of vitamin C per day, while women and girls need 75 milligrams of vitamin C per day. Pregnant women need 85 milligrams of vitamin C and while breastfeeding up to 120 milligrams of vitamin C. Smokers need an additional dose of 35 milligrams of the aforementioned amount.
