Hormonal disorders, aging, continuous diets. After the age of 40, the pounds become more and more difficult to lose. Here’s what you should keep in mind.
The body begins to change after birth, but the periods where the changes become more visible are: adolescence and pre-menopause, i.e. around the age of 40-50 years. Most women gain more weight from the hormonal changes associated with this period of life. Having too much or too little estrogen affects weight. Stress also plays an important role, which to tell the truth is even greater at this age. Two other factors are food and lack of physical activity.
How to do it so as not to gain weight? In theory, ponderal balance happens naturally, the organism is an extraordinary balance, but a balance is also required between those who enter and those who leave. A sedentary life, a lot of sugars and fats lead to excess calories and create fat mass.
Mistakes to avoid. Change the way you eat by not eating too much. However, light diets are preferred and not very strict ones because they remove muscle mass. Calories should be reduced because age also changes. If when you were 20 years old you needed 2000 calories or more, now 1700 are enough. That way you won’t even gain weight.
How to balance food? You should definitely choose carefully what you will consume and prioritize quality, not quantity. Choose fresh produce, consume protein at every meal, consume less sugar, get vitamins and antioxidants through fruits and vegetables, avoid salt, drink plenty of water, privilege fiber and above all, listen to your feelings.
Eat only when you are hungry and don’t do it for pleasure. Finally, try to de-stress, go to the beach, take a vacation and be optimistic. Yoga, massages and acupuncture, anything will do you good.
